Berkshire Wellness Center of Reading

Built For This. Built For You.

Berkshire Wellness Center of Reading provides comprehensive behavioral health care through a coordinated continuum of services. Our outpatient therapy and recovery programs are supported by close collaboration with Haven Behavioral Hospital – Eastern Pennsylvania, which offers hospital-based treatment when safety and structure are needed most. Together, our experienced care teams deliver dignity in crisis, structured recovery, and measurable outcomes. We are committed to walking with you throughout your journey to healing and stability.

Inpatient Care We Provide

Berkshire Psychiatric provides comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services. We work in close coordination with Haven Behavioral Hospital – Eastern Pennsylvania, which offers hospital-level inpatient care for older adults and adults experiencing acute behavioral or psychiatric symptoms that require a safe, structured setting. This may include:
  • Suicidal thoughts or risk of self-harm
  • Severe mood, anxiety, or thought-related symptoms
  • Significant behavioral changes or cognitive decline
  • Emotional or psychiatric crisis requiring 24/7 supervision
  • Co-occurring behavioral and medical concerns that need coordinated care

Our inpatient programs focus on short-term crisis stabilization and a safe, supportive environment.

What to Expect During Inpatient Care

Our 24/7 hospital-based program provides a safe, structured environment designed for short-term crisis stabilization. Inpatient care focuses on immediate safety, medical evaluation, and helping you regain the stability needed to continue treatment after discharge.

Upon arrival, patients receive:

  • A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to understand immediate needs
  • A medical history and physical exam completed by a physician
  • A full nursing assessment, including safety and wellness checks
  • An introduction to the unit, staff, and daily routines to help you get settled

These first-day steps help us understand your needs and ensure a secure, supportive stay.

Throughout your admission, our team provides daily clinical oversight, medication management, therapeutic groups, and coordinated planning for what comes next. Treatment decisions are made collaboratively based on how you’re feeling, what we observe, and what best supports your recovery.

Every patient receives a treatment plan designed for safety, clinical precision, and dignity – ensuring care that is both compassionate and accountable.
