Laura Tarantino serves as chief legal officer, compliance and privacy officer for Oceans Healthcare, where she works to protect patients’ rights and advocates for expanding access to behavioral health treatment in the communities the organization serves.

With more than 25 years of healthcare and legal experience, Tarantino brings strategic insight and expertise to the executive leadership team. Before joining Oceans in 2014, she served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at F.A. Richard & Associates, and as executive vice president and general counsel at APS Healthcare, Inc. She also held the role of general counsel for Psychiatric Solutions and managed her own law practice specializing in healthcare regulatory matters, executive compensation, mergers and acquisitions and complex corporate negotiations.

A dedicated advocate for mental health, Tarantino has served as president of the Louisiana Association for Behavioral Health. She has been recognized for her professional leadership as a finalist for the Corporate Counsel Awards by D CEO in 2017 and 2019 and as one of Dallas’ Top 50 General Counsels in 2018 by the Texas Diversity Council.

Tarantino earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
