STAR℠ Military Program
When behavioral health symptoms related to military service become severe or unsafe to manage independently, specialized inpatient care can provide immediate, structured support.
The Oceans Healthcare STAR℠ Program delivers hospital-based behavioral health care for active-duty service members, veterans, and their families in a secure clinical setting.
STAR programs are designed to stabilize acute psychiatric symptoms, support safety, and help individuals regain clarity and functional readiness with the support of a dedicated clinical team.
What Is the STAR℠ Military Program?
The STAR℠ Program is a specialized inpatient behavioral health program tailored to the unique needs of military service members and veterans. Care is short-term, hospital-based, and delivered with 24/7 psychiatric and medical supervision.
At Oceans Healthcare, the STAR Program focuses on:
- Psychiatric stabilization and safety
- Comprehensive psychiatric and medical evaluation
- Medication initiation, adjustment, and monitoring
- Structured therapeutic support informed by military experience
Planning for continued care, readiness, or transition after discharge
Patients reside on-site during treatment and receive continuous support from psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, therapists, and behavioral health professionals trained in military culture.

The STAR Program may be appropriate for:
- Active-duty service members experiencing acute behavioral health symptoms

Service members whose symptoms cannot be safely managed through outpatient care
Care is individualized based on clinical needs, service status, and coordination requirements with DoD or VA partners when applicable.

Programming is structured to provide consistency and clarity, with care delivered in peer-appropriate settings that respect service era and life stage.
Is the STAR Program Right for You?
The STAR Program provides intensive, specialized behavioral health care for individuals who require inpatient stabilization in a military-informed environment. It does require a temporary step away from daily responsibilities, but for many service members and veterans, this focused period of care is essential for safety, stabilization, and continued readiness.
Our admissions team can help determine whether the STAR Program is the most appropriate level of care.
