Facility opens intensive outpatient program to treat young adults, older adults and seniors living at home
OPELOUSAS, La. (January 12, 2016) – Oceans Behavioral Hospital Opelousas, a behavioral health provider focused on the healing and long-term recovery, today announced the opening of its intensive outpatient program.
In this program, the hospital’s team of expert clinicians will provide ongoing outpatient treatment for a wide variety of behavioral health issues impacting adults 18 and older, including schizophrenia, affective disorders, behavioral illnesses that may be related to substance abuse, as well as less severe but debilitating illnesses such as anxiety disorders.
The program will provide the following support to patients:
“For our patients to truly heal, treatment must often continue outside of a hospital setting,” said Theresa Fontenot, administrator at Oceans Behavioral Hospital Opelousas. “Behavioral health treatment is a life-long journey and healing requires constant attention. Our outpatient treatment program encourages long-term, successful management of physical, emotional and behavioral health while allowing patients to live at home and resume normal activities.”
Intensive outpatient treatment is tailored to each individual’s needs. As patients improve, the frequency of counseling decreases while they transition to traditional outpatient treatment.
Oceans Behavioral Hospital Opelousas is located at 1310 Heather Drive. For more information, visit obho.info. For admissions criteria or referrals, please call (337) 948-8820.
