PLANO, Texas (November 17, 2015) – The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States, today recognized six Oceans Healthcare hospitals in Louisiana and Texas as 2014 Top Performers on Key Quality Measures®. All hospitals were recognized as part of The Joint Commission’s 2015 annual report “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety,” for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for inpatient psychiatric services. Oceans Healthcare hospitals in Louisiana represented five of only nine facilities recognized that provide behavioral health treatment, and five of the 28 total hospitals recognized across the state.

The Top Performer program recognizes hospitals for improving performance on evidence-based interventions that increase the chances of healthy outcomes for patients with certain conditions. Those recognized for inpatient psychiatric services specifically were measured on their admission screenings, medication management practices and discharge planning services.
Oceans Healthcare hospitals take great pride in their consistent recognition as Top Performers year over year.
To be a 2014 Top Performer, hospitals had to meet three performance criteria based on 2014 accountability measure data, including:
