New facility will provide inpatient, outpatient mental health treatment options
HAMMOND, La. – (Jan. 8, 2019) – Oceans Healthcare, a behavioral health provider focused on healing and long-term recovery, today announced the expansion of its Louisiana behavioral health services with the construction of a new hospital in Hammond. The company plans to open 32-bed Oceans Behavioral Hospital Hammond later this year and anticipates staffing around 50 clinical and non-clinical positions.
“Data show nearly one in every five adults in Louisiana experience mental illness, yet access to care continues to be a challenge in the region,” said Stuart Archer, CEO of Oceans Healthcare. “Our health care network was founded in Lake Charles and we are dedicated to continuing our expansion efforts in Louisiana so individuals across the state can get the help they need.”
Local city officials will join members of the Oceans Healthcare leadership team for a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, Jan. 10, at 2:30 p.m., at 15782 Professional Plaza – the planned site of Oceans Behavioral Hospital Hammond.
Oceans Healthcare was founded in Lake Charles, Louisiana, in 2004, and has since grown to a network of 17 behavioral health hospitals and intensive outpatient programs. Oceans Behavioral Hospital Hammond will be the company’s 10th hospital in Louisiana. Other locations in the state include Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Broussard, Crowley, DeRidder, New Orleans, Kentwood, Lake Charles and Opelousas. For more information, visit www.oceanshealthcare.com.
